Who’s pushing you

It is imperative that we know who we’re following in life. Have you ever followed ambition or even good intention, but there was a negative pull in your spirit when working on that project, or going to that job. I’m going to tell you a secret, The right thing done in the wrong time is still wrong.  It’s not only important to seek God for vision, but it’s critical that you ask God for His timing as well. Just because something is good, doesn’t mean it’s God. If you wonder why your divine inspiration or blessing is hurting your back from the burden… Ask God is the timing right. Don’t keep pushing the rock up a mountain it’s not time to climb.

Good Lovin XOXO

1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New International Version (NIV)

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away

The word of God is not only truth, but it is life. This scripture is not a cute quote to put on your wedding invite, tattoo, or office desk… it’s a blue print from God our Father to His sons and daughters mapping out the reality of true love. The scripture is not a poem, it’s a standard. I challenge you to love yourself enough to hold “love” against a light and evaluate it. Judge love by its attributes; celebrate when it’s good, but if your love doesn’t match up with the love of the Father, then you need to dismiss the impostor and move on. The right kind of love inspires greatness. Peace.

Shhhhhhh……

It important to take time out of your day and be silent. Sometimes our day can be filled with to-do lists, errands, and enough expectations to keep your head spinning. Today, take a moment to invest in your own sanity. Take a step back, a deep breath, and for 60 seconds don’t DO anything! Yes, I know it sounds crazy, but I want you to take an entire minute for yourself. Inhale; close your eyes, and then exhale. For the 60 seconds refuse any thought, worry, or concern. If at the end of the 60 seconds you’re not smiling, it’s because you didn’t do it right… try again. There is strength in being silent and still. Peace.

Love you

Don’t hide the best part of you. If your job, relationship, or home life diminishes your spirit; find an outlet that encourages the best part of you. Don’t give a person control of your self esteem. It doesn’t matter if it’s a journal, craft, sport or hobby… Your light deserves to shine. Don’t look for a person, look for purpose.

Celebrate the win

Life is more than a race. Have you ever reached the end of a day and realized you have accomplished everything you wanted for the day? Well guess what..now it’s time to smile, sit back, and enjoy the win. Sometimes we can
work so hard and never take a moment to appreciate what has been done. It’s great to have a goal but it’s also important to acknowledge that the goal has been met. You deserve a “way to go” or “good job” even if it’s from you to you. Before you close your eyes tonight, think of a way to celebrate today’s wins, I guarantee it will lead to many more.

Be FREE

Its time to stand up for the God in you. Obstacles, problems, stress are not of God. God tells us to bring Him our pain, anguish, and confusion. I love the song “freedom” by the walls because they speak truth. The past is history. When are you going to stand on who you are today? If you have asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, you no longer have to be bound by past mistakes, thoughts or occurrences. Enjoy the liberty of being forgiven! I challenge you to say a prayer of repentance, then write the things you have done on pieces of paper… take the paper and throw it way, burn it, put it under water… basically destroy it so that you can physically put it behind you. The devil wants you in a prison of shame and guilt; God said you are more than your mistakes. Welcome freedom!
